Nashville is the capital of the state of Tennessee. The city is in the middle of the state of Tennessee. It is halfway between Memphis and Knoxville, both 3 hours from Nashville.

Tennessee is in the south of the United States and is located between states such as Kentucky, North Carolina, and Alabama. Tennessee is a landlocked state, so it will take you about 8 hours in the south or east to reach the ocean.
Nashville is pretty easy to get to, which is half of it being a great place for a quick 3-day getaway. The easiest way to reach Nashville is to fly to Nashville International Airport (airport code: BNA). The airport is only 15-20 minutes from the city center by car.
I highly recommend renting a car if you are visiting Nashville. The city is very drivable and having a car makes everything much easier. I highly recommend Hertz, but if you’re looking for the best price, you can find it here.

The city center is more compact and street parking can be more difficult to find. If you’re staying in the Downtown/Gulch area, make sure your hotel has underground parking or valet parking access.
If you want a little more space, stay in Midtown. This is a great area to wander around as it is inside Vanderbilt University. Also, you will be much more likely to park on the street in this area. If you want to save some money, you can stay out of these areas.
Since you will have a car during your visit, it is possible to stay a little further from the city. But remember, when you’re only spending 3 days in Nashville, being in the center of the city is ideal, so you don’t waste time commuting to a hotel far out of town.
