This is where I stayed during my recent trip to Jakarta. The location of Hotel Clay couldn’t be better: It is located in central Jakarta near the bridge that connects the north and south of the city, just 1 km from the Grand Indonesia Mall, so you can go there every day for lunch. Their Deluxe rooms are only $23 per night, but I really recommend you get a Business room for just $2 more, which is more spacious and located on the upper floors where it’s quiet. Breakfast is also included in the room price (it’s average). The only thing that really pissed me off about this hotel is that there was smoking everywhere in the lobby, including the non-smoking areas – the staff didn’t care.
Well, I probably don’t need to tell you that the Shangri-la Hotel in downtown Jakarta is one of the best hotels in the city, and when you add that they’re also girl-friendly, you might have a very good reason to treat yourself to some luxury during your stay. With room rates starting at $156 per night for their Deluxe rooms, it might not be within everyone’s budget, but if you compare it to 5-star hotels in Western countries, then it’s actually a pretty good deal. Needless to say, all the rooms are super modern with fantastic mattresses (your girl will love it) and probably have the nicest pool in the capital too. More photos and information can be found here:
If you want to stay close to all massage parlors in North Jakarta, then Red Planet would be a good choice. The rooms are exceptional value at just $21 per night (double), and as you can see from the picture, they’re bright, modern and well appointed (even with fairly new air conditioning). I think the reason they can offer such low room rates is because they are located in North Jakarta, which is not really the nicest part of the city. All the “new” money and property development is going to South Jakarta these days, but if you’re a guy looking for girls and sex – it’s a great place to base yourself. And you’re also a short walk away from the National Monument (1.4 miles), which is really the only real monument here that you shouldn’t miss.

It’s always a good idea to stay at a franchise hotel chain like Amaris, so you can be sure you’re getting a certain standard of quality. This hotel is one of your best options if you want to stay in hip and trendy South Jakarta, as it offers room rates as low as $28 per night (smart room), which is very hard to find in this part of the city at a similar standard. If you read the reviews on Agoda, you will see that most people like the location in a sub-area called Keman, which is just a short taxi ride to the girly bars in Blok M.
I was thinking about which hotel to recommend as the fifth option and I think ibis Jakarta fits well in this list because it is also located in central Jakarta and that is really the best area to stay in my opinion. I booked an executive room, when I arrived, the customer service said that the executive room is full and said that I will upgrade to a deluxe room, no upgrade the room (no refund) Then I got a room with a lot of cockroaches 😓 I’m so disappointed .
