The New Hotel Xcaret Arte – Thoughts for the first trip I have just returned from the Hotel Xcaret Arte. This is a new resort that opened in 2021 to compliment Hotel Xcaret with the distinct distinction of being adults only. I have stayed at the original Hotel Xcaret a couple of times so it was good to compare the two resorts.

This is the perfect holiday resort for an active group of friends, couples or families with grown-up children. I would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues or the inability to walk long distances.
Hotel Xcaret México Earns Two Rci Awards
1) Stay as long as you can! This resort includes all 9 Xcaret parks as part of your inclusion. They all leave you wishing you could stay longer.
2) Plan to eat! This resort is famous for gastronomy. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was impressive. We really had great authentic Mexican food. They have 3 restaurants on the property that require reservations so be sure to schedule this when you arrive to meet all the amazing ones.
3) Transport is included by bus to and from the airport. If you miss it you can wait 30 -45 minutes for the next bus so private transport is always an option if you prefer. We paid $65 one way for a private transfer.
4) Brush up on your Spanish. We found this resort to cater to a wide rage of international guests. English was spoken but not as fluently as other places in the area. We could always figure it out but sometimes had to get creative with English and Spanish.

5) Explore both sides. Staying at Xcaret Arte gives you full access to Hotel Xcaret. The spa on the Hotel Xcaret side cannot be missed. It is carved out of the rock so that your treatment rooms are inside individual caves. They connect at the falls and you walk on a bridge over the river.
6) Leave high heels at home! This resort requires a lot of walking on uneven surfaces. The roads just from the lobby to the rooms were stone. We also recommend taking water shoes to swim in the river as there are many rocks.
7) Masks! They were more pro-mask than any resort I’ve been to during the pandemic. They asked you to wear a mask almost anywhere on the property by having a person walk around with a “Please wear your mask” sign. However, they did not confront people about wearing a mask unless it was in a restaurant.
8) Spend a day enjoying the hotel. The parks included are amazing but the resort is just as amazing. There are caves, the river, great pools, paddleboarding, kayaking and more without leaving the hotel.

9) Plan for later hours…..this resort is catering to a wide range of countries. The US is one of the few that likes to eat dinner at 6pm. When we would go to dinner at 6pm it would be a ghost town. The restaurants come alive starting around 9pm and there are even tacos available until 4am outside SpeakEasy.
10) Speaking of Speakeasys… this is a trend I love. We made it one night to SpeakEasy (located in the music wing). It is in a service area of the hotel. You follow red lights on the roof to get there and it seems like you’re walking into a parking garage and then suddenly there’s a cool bar with live jazz. This should not be missed!
