Mount Washington Hotels
We recently enjoyed a late summer stay at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. To be honest, this place has intrigued me ever since we moved to New England. It was instantly added to the “must experience” list.
This property is a step back in time with all the luxuries of today. It is a time capsule, yet a place that has stood the test of time. It is full of history. Celebrities have walked the floor. It is truly a New England treasure and we quickly discovered the charms and attractions of this historic hotel.
The drive here is truly amazing from our small town in Connecticut. We passed through some of my favorite places in Vermont and then once we crossed into New Hampshire, the White Mountains greeted us.
Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed with the COVID safety precautions the hotel had taken. They have hand sanitizing stations and social distancing markers. Everyone respects and wears masks indoors. All workers wear masks and servers wear masks and gloves. We felt really calm and safe.
The Haunted Mount Washington Hotel
Our room was clean and they supplied extra masks and wipes for our use. The robe has been professionally cleaned and the remote is boxed and marked as cleaned for the television.
Outside on the veranda, we could go without a mask as the seating arrangements were well spaced and there were plenty of places to enjoy the view in the courtyard as well.
Omni Mount Washington offers so many outdoor activities! Award winning golf courses, disc golf, fly fishing, horseback riding, ATV rides and hiking just to name a few. Be in the fresh mountain air and enjoy nature along with staying here.
We took our son with us, so we opted for horseback riding, hiking and ATV riding.
Trump Hotel In D.c. Will Become A Waldorf Astoria: Travel Weekly
There are 4 restaurants operating in the hotel now. The Main Dining Room is a great place to have a full breakfast each morning. It is newly renovated and quite beautiful.
We choose to take most of our meals out. Stickneys is an on-site steak and seafood restaurant and offers a lunch and dinner menu with outdoor seating. We ate here both nights, but it was too dark to take good pictures at the time of our reservation because the sun was setting.
One day we grabbed a box lunch from the Morsels cafe on site and had a picnic by the river.
Another option if you want a light meal is to order an appetizer and a few drinks from the Rosebrook Bar and enjoy it outside on the veranda.

Next time we visit, I want to take advantage of the new spa. I want this travel activity to focus on our boys since they return to school the following week. The spa is calling me!
We took advantage of the indoor pool when it rained. Our boys also enjoyed the arcade and air hockey while we waited for the shower.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to plan a fall foliage or winter stay back here soon. It’s definitely one to add to your travel list!
